Aftermarket HU compatibility
« on: 15 May 2011, 18:08:22 »

Does anyone know if a Sony CDX GT300 can connect up to the TID on a 95 Omega. I assume if it does i need some sort of adapter?

There used to be an interface around many moons ago that ran a display output from the CD changer port on the Sony models

However, if you do manage to locate one (they were well over £100) its worth checking that the CD changer protocol will still work, as I have a gut feeling that it may not on such a recent model - steering controls should not present a problem though.

You normally need to swap perm and switched live on after marked headunits destined for Vauxhalls, many stereos have bullet connectons on the red and yellow wires to allow this easily.
