CDR 2005 to replace CCR 2006
« on: 22 June 2011, 13:30:58 »

It's pretty clear from other posts that a (knackered) Philips CCR 2006 can be replaced with a CDR 2005, so I've got one coming from ebay.
Question - will it fit into the existing cage, or do I need a 2005 cage as well?

Straight in Dave. If this is going into your Elite you may experience problems with speakers

Hi Rob - Is that because the Omega has more speakers than a Corsa?

The head unit requires configuring to drive a Bose speaker system and, if I recall correctly, the 2005 doesn't support that.

Having read more, it's now pretty clear that the 2005 is NOT going to work in my Elite. :(
Let's hope someone outbids me on ebay, or I'm going to have a new paperweight!

Send a bid retraction request, and point here.

State you have inadvertently bid on an incompatible item.

Worst that can happen is they refuse

CDR2005 will replace a "Non BOSE" CCR2006 and should fit into the original cage in most instances.

CDR2005 cannot be configured to Bose and therefore cannot be used if you have a Bose system

CDR2005 has the same 36 Pin Mini ISO connections

Not all variants of CDR2005 support steering wheel controls.
