Front seat electrics - height adjust not working
« on: 09 July 2011, 13:34:15 »

HELP!

I have just fitted my 'new' leather fronts and the height adjust is not working.

The heating seems to be working and the motors / mechanism clunks when I press the height adjust switch but nothing happens.

This is made worse by the fact that both seats are stuck at max height  >:(

Any suggestions - is there a reset or lock that needs to be removed or can the seats be manually lowered (ok, so that will mean taking them out again!).

I am just wondering about a reset as I had to do this for the windows one-touch operation when the battery was reconnected.

Thanks!

Didnt get round to that but Iwould expect the button thingy to be the same. Can see how you would get the complete fitting out of the seat to change the complete part.

Absolutely!

Haf a can of lubricant spray and a 13mm 3/8ths ratchet later and all is well.

A 'must do' for anybody changing their seats - just take the time to lube the worm drive and manually adjust it a bit before fitting the seats.
