Omega 2001-electrical harnesses
« on: 14 August 2011, 21:20:25 »

Im starting on the project, to add some electrical accessories to my Opel Omega 2001. Therefore I need specialist confirmation if FL models have harness ready for:
-Making rear windows electric. Only electrical mechanisms needed for the doors and new electrical switch module to the front door?
- Rear reading lights- Just adding the lamp module to the hanger on each side?
- Front sunshade /make-up lamps. Requires just switching the new sunshades with lamps.

If anyone has experience with such project, then thanks for the info in advance.

Rear windows. You need the rear door looms, window motors, doorcards, switches for rears and driver`s doors and the loom from the donor driver`s door.
Rear lights, you need the loom from the light to bottom of door pillar off donor car.
Sunshades, loom may be tucked under headlining.

RobG! Do you know where are the closest connection points for those rear door looms? The central door/window module on the right side of the gas pedal?

I have the Opel Omega, but the donor car is Vauxhall Omega. Not sure, if those wires can plug-and-play...?

Thanks,

Gents!

I have instlalled now the new door loom for driver door. And also connected(just for test purposes) the new rear door loom and motor to the connector, found in the lower seatbelt mounting.
The new door switch module was not moving the rear window motor. The front windows were working OK.

Does anybody know if some software activation is required for having rear electric windows working? Or relay/fuse missing

Thanks,
Olari
