Nowt wrong with Astra's!  :y  :y  :y

other than the stupid indicators!  ;D ;D ;D ;D
You get used to them and once you do they're actually not that bad... The "lane change" function is very good :y

the what?  ???
Lane Change :y

Assuming you're talking about the ones that don't lock into position when you move them, there are 2 resistance points in each direction, the first one is "Lane Change" and only flashes the indicators about 5 times ;)

Not really... Should flash at least a few times to signal your intention to move before moving lane ;)

But can be set to 5 with Tech 2.

There are three modes of operation.

1) A short gentle press which gives trheee flashes.
2) Press to the first resistance point and it flashes as long as its held there
3) Press beyond the first resistance point and they flash as per a standard latched indicator (and self cancel as the wheel is turned).

Its 3) that causes some an issue as if they dont self cancel due to the road being staright then you have to tap the indicator stalk, press it to ahrd and they flash in the opposite direction

Well he now has the car..... ::) ::) ::) Got a call from him at 9.00am at work,"are you busy" why, he tells me the car is ready can I sort the insurance, all the paperwork is at home, so NO and why has he chased up the garage and paying for a months car tax for 2 days..... ::) ::) ::)
A few minutes later his boss rang me, my little brother, telling me I am cruel and that Master Vamps is all excited etc etc..
As it happens I had, from last week, an insurance certificate in my pocket which gives the policy details, so got this, googled Admiral and changed the policy..... :D
Gone from tpf&t on a Saxo 1.0L £750, policy only 10 days old after renewal. to fully comp on a 1.6 05plate Astra for an additional £570.25 which to be honest I was very pleased with, expected much more....

Anyway all sorted, he has his car and has been out 'visiting' tonight.... :y :y :y

The additional cost is very reasonable IMO, considering the main factors of age and a newer, more powerful car :y

TBH, my dealings with Admiral have all been good. Rang them yesterday to discuss my insurance options... They won't cover the new van, mainly because of it's use, so decided to cancel my private car insurance with them too because I'm now running a full motor trade policy and it seems silly to pay out to insure the car separately (although I now have a much higher excess and no windscreen cover ::)) and he said that as SWMBO has had a claim I have to pay her policy in full to cancel so leave it running. Loss of multicar discount wasn't as horrendous as I was expecting... £27 plus some pennies :y

Can't really fault them TBH and if they had been willing to cover the van I probably would have stayed. Mind you, all the household vehicles insured FC, both myself and SWMBO insured FC on any vehicle, plus my £5m Liability came in at just shy of £1400 so not too bad :y
