Inconsiderate anglers
« on: 09 October 2011, 21:42:49 »

Walking the dogs around the lake in our local park this evening, noticed a magpie struggling in undergrowth, decided that I would attempt to catch it,(no easy task with two dogs with me).
Well easy catch,it was entangled with fishing line, help arrived and it was cut free, after it bit my hand, released it and of it went.
My point is,WHY don't these bloodly fishing people pick up their discarded lines and litter before they depart.
Rant over, but they really do pis# me off.         Alfie.

Most fishermen do, and chastise those who don't why we are them.  Like everything there are always bad eggs

Many clubs and day ticket waters will ban (so called) Anglers who behave like that, but as Guffer says, there will always be bad eggs etc. ;)

Hi,glad to see that some of you take your sport seriously, and look after the surrounding area and wildlife, but my local park is just 500 yds away and the fishing club there is a law to itself.
It could be said that they and myself are not on the best of terms, they seem to think that because they rent the rights to fish the lake, they can behave as they please, and that the park rules do not apply to them.

If you complain to the EA and the local council you will find things change when they try and renew their club rights to fish the waters.  Clubs that don't act against their members who flout laws are easy to ban  :y
