Getting peed off with this problem now.  Found a simple way to fix it, unplug the net lead, attempt to log into messenger, forces a pop repair box, plug the lan back in and click repair both google retains as well as all other browers and the seems to be quite a speed increase as if there was a bottle nexk on all web sites.

Problem has occurred twice since this post, but have just seen this message on the chrome browser whilst trying to connect to google as the whole problem has started again.

Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.
