sorry, I am down in eastleigh hampshire. The ex's motor was a 2.6 veccy so i did all the work to that , rocker covers, sump, all th eleakks etc etc etc and I did the timing belt as I have the necesaary tools at home thankfully. I did see that the omega tailgate does suffer with rust on the spindle but well will have to wait and see if I can find one in good condition , been looking round fleabay and the traders so keep look out , whats the average price I should be looking at for a top spec model like a omega elite or cdx etc ?
That depends what you're willing to pay and how fussy you are

2 years for the right one (although my requirements were
very specific) and paid a little over £3k for it 6 months ago
Top money (or more than top money) in some people's opinion but worth every penny as far as I was concerned as it was the only one in that time I had seen that ticked all of the boxes for me
I've since spent about £1800 putting it right (because it had full Vx History
) and fitting LPG. Not much left for me to do now but probably another £1.5-2k if I do all I want, which includes Irmscher stuff
But... It's an extreme example
I have very specific requirements/wants and specification that I was always willing to pay top money for
If you're not so fussy then they can be picked up for much less money and still be good cars
Good luck with the search and feel free to ask for opinions on here if you want... Be warned though, that if it's priced highly (like mine was) there's bound to be a few people who will tell you it's too expensive
Just remember... It's worth what you are willing to pay for it
