For the LD I think it is damned if they do damned if they don't. I will admit I am more anti Labour than pro any other party. And also I tend to favour less interfearance in our lives (eg hate all the banning, ID cards and other rubbish).
LD and Cons were actually in a very similar place over civil liberties, both parties now in government are trying to give us them back.

That is my worry - I would have prefered to have the other David in charge - he has demonstrated his morals over the 42day detention.
Everyone supported 42 days until you pointed out a simple fact - it could so easily include them, then they immediately understood.
I do not need an ID card, I do not need to be on a DNA register, I do not want the government to know where I am all the time.
I like privacy.
