Forza is, a faict, the best driving game by some distance. F1, GT5, project Gotham, all of the ps3 driving games, alley bush compared to Forza3.
Forza4 looks awesome looking at some of the related videos. Didn't think kinect would help with this game. But it looks incredibly accurate.
I thought GT5 was supposed to have the most accurate car handling - you can tell the difference between front and mid engines.
TBH I prefer straight out silly racers my favourite is Motorstorm Pacific Rift
with Forza you can tell a couple of psi difference in tyre pressure. That level of detail can also work against you though. Set up is important, as it is in real life. It's aimed at car lovers, of all sorts. Motor storm is way too compromised by not being specific to a particular vehicle. It's fun, but in the same way wii is fun. Ie not at all realistic I suppose.
Forza is a simulator. Among other things. Live telemetry on screen, can help you sort a handling problem while you race real time. Camber, toe, castor, bump, rebound, dif ratios, etc etc. All makes a difference and will improve lap times, or make it worse.
Set up is one thing, sight and sound, are most realistic of any I've seen, induction, exhaust, transmission, wind noise are all there, egging you on. Not like the sound affects knocked up on an Amstrad sythersizer you get on phony games... Although some are ok in an artificial/cartoon type noise. Forza is as real as it gets, without being there or hoping into an F1 teams simulator.
Elevation changes on nordschliefe are class leading, afaict. But still need improvement going by some on board videos I've seen. Going down hill on some sections, the cars noise reflects back off the hill side on some models.
I don't bother with career mode, too impatient. A1 car, set up, off to the ring. Av it!
