Cruise Control
« on: 16 October 2011, 13:16:53 »

Hello,

I wonder if anyone out there can tell me if cruise control can be retro fitted to a 2.5v6 CD.

Is the wiring loom already there?, is it just a question of fitting the indicator/control stalk and actuator under the bonnet?, or am I being over optimistic and better off buying a CDX or above.

I'ts just that my pearler of a 2.5 V6 CD Estate 2000 V has only 40,000 miles from new and I'm loathed to change it but I really miss the cruise control.

I'll look forward to any comments.

Many thanks.

Malcolm.

yes
It can be done  :y

Pm one of the breakers on here or stick a request in the part section.
You will need a .....
Actuator and cable
Stork controls
Maybe a couple of pedel switches

The wiring should be in there  :y

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I'll try and gather the parts. Incidentally, will it be relatively easy to fit or am I in for job and a half?

Thanks again.

Malcolm.

FBW (Fly By Wire) type cruise easier to do.  How difficult depends on how confident you feel about doing it yourself?.

Couple of links here from the maintenance section that maybe of some help to start you off, the rest just ask and someone on here is bound to be able to help you out  :y
