The smell of Diesel
« on: 17 October 2011, 19:36:05 »

Anyone got any suggestions of how to remove smell?

I was filling up my Escort van saturday , got distracted and a large splash of deisel covered my jeans.

The problem is the smell of deisel is still very strong on the jeans even after being washed two times.

There must be some substance that is friendly to Levis but deadly to diesel on the market.

Sorry, can't recommend anything, but surely a bit too expensive for spilling over your jeans ......  ::) ::) ::)  ;)

Plenty washes and use conditioner (Lenor etc), dry them outside in the fresh air  :y

Stop looking at females at the next pump  ;)

Cheers John, obviously someone who has had a similar problem, so I'll get some lenor and keep my eyes straight ahead in future.

Have not tried in on Diesel but vinegar is very good at getting rid of smells. Just pour over the stain leave it to soak for a couple of hours then wash them as normal.

Have you considered volunteering for mucking-out duties at a local stables? I'm sure that, after a few shifts, you'll hardly notice the smell of diesel. ;)
