Off the motorway very rare, I work in a town and often have to drive around during the day, my pet hates that I see regularly are phone users and kids on the back seat not strapped in, and never a Police car around when you want one... ::) ::) ::)

Doesn't strictly need a traffic cop, any PC could stop / go and book someone for such an offence. The reality of it though, is with budget cuts and such like, the police resources are too stretched to deal with the vast amount of phone using drivers, etc.

Sad thing with phone use and driving, it happens SO much.

You're telling me! I reckon it's more prevalent now than it was before they made it an endorsable offence. I had some idiot almost hit me yesterday. Turned out of a car park and strayed over onto the opposite lane. Why the break didn't the idiot have the patience to finish his phone call before driving off.  >:(

The problem is, the ONLY driving offence for which there is even a remote risk of detection is speeding.

I think we replaced them all with magic cameras, because everyone knows that speed kills and everything else is just mildly annoying, no?

Clearly! As you've said on here before, behaviour wittnessed is rife, and aint going to improve any time soon. We all make mistakes, nobodys perfect etc etc, but driving standards have noticably dropped round here. Can tell they're on the phone, wandering all over the place, nodding at green lights, ignoring right of way blah blah...

I tend to agree, but I just do not see myself as a Merc driver, a bit ostentatious for me, particularly as I use a car for work... :-\  The Mig was great for image, as it says little being old, the Jeep, not sure what statement that says, different but not OTT so that suits me... :y

makes a mockery of the whole thing doesnt it..." Do as you like, just dont speed" message is utter 'dangle berries'. Concentrate! Driving, while driving, being 3rd or 4th on the list of things to do.

i'd have never known you had a jeep if you didn't just mention it!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

im really not sure what the image of an omega driver is tbh.

i think jeeps are really cool actually. it says to me youre a guy from the sticks who doesn't have to own a sheep to know what not to put in one  ;D ;D ;D ;D

no seriously, jeeps conjur up images (for me) of american guys in check flannel shirts with rifle cases and drinking budweiser by the camp fire. but i think thats cool  :y
