Thanks Blackviper!!
« on: 18 October 2011, 21:32:24 »

A big thanks to Dave. My MV6 alloys are now refitted to my 3.2, and the awful GLS ones ready for the bin....

Dave took my wheels to a tyre place, who have supplied me with 4 x tyres for 60 quid. Fitted and balanced. Worried yet?

dont be. I have been over them with hawk eyes and they are perfect.  The most worn still have 5mm tread, and one has nearly 7mm. All top brands, conti sc2 and goodyear eagle. No bulges, rips, tears, cracking. All good.

Slate me if you wish, but its legal and as safe as you could hope for. At the rate my MV6 wears tyres this is a no brainer... Especially with mot due next month!!

I have some Michelin with 5mm of tread left. Destined for landfill.

Most tyres are pretty tired by 4mm (its not just about tread depth ;))

Yep I agree with that TB. In this case tho, they are all under 18 months old, and are an ideal stopgap until I do my suspension overhaul :)

Not disagreeing that it meets your current needs :y

I still maintain, overall, its false economy to continuously use part worns ;)

Sending them to landfill. Michelin tyres should not be allowed on *ANY* car for *ANY* driving style. Esp once they are more than 6 months old.

Your welcome mate, especially after all the help and work you've done for me. It's the least I could do.  :y

I take it you have had a bad experience with Michelin tyres then, or was it driver error?........ :) ;)
