Is it possible to permanently raise the ride height- say one inch all round, of an Omega ? I am fed up of bottoming out on rocks, sleeping policmen and so on.

I am getting pretty despondent in not finding a serviceable 4x4 for anything less than daft money and this might be the answer. Both of the cars I test drove today were rubbish and the front transaxle actually failed whilst out on the test drive of the dealer car.

Obviously the handling would suffer with a raised COG. Any other issues? Insurance - non standard. Visit to WIM presuumably would be essential same as it is after lowering? If it is possible how to do it?

Had to do the opposite to my elite. It was sitting too high at the back.

Spring change achieved the desired ride height.

What is your ride height at present?   Get the car on flat ground & measure from the ground up through the center of the wheel to the wheelarch edge.    standard suspension  (CD  CDX  elite etc.) should be 675mm

MV6  & LSC (lowered sports chassis)  facelifts should be 660mm

what if you changed changed tyre profile ?    from say 45   to 55     as an example

Fit LA springs. These seem to be something of an oddity, as they don't appear to be listed for omega, going by posts here, but several cars have them here, as mine did. Comparing ride hight at the oxford meet, mine sat an inch higher than all other cars present.

Fit rough road package, listed for plod I believe...?  Maybe that's what LA are? Dunno.

Fit self leveling, fiddle the sensor to sit higher? Rear only though obviously.


Increasing tyre size will be limited by the shock spring cup hight distance from the rim on the front. Rear has loads of room but will increase gearing loosing acceleration, if that's a factor? Might be more economical though?

Wim set up essential. Although measuring your current camber first can allow you to it set up
better after re assembly. Then get toe set locally. But really should be set correctly.

No experience of raising kits. Seen mention on here though.

There are a pair of rubber rings that sit between the coils and fasten with tie wraps. They are used for towing generally. I have four which I fit to the Astra in winter to raise the ride height, one per wheel. Works a treat, but I suppose long term usage will increase wear of the springs.
 
What is the ride height at the front for Omega's please? Anybody?

670mm ground to wheel arch across centre of the wheel.
This is on a 2.5 preF/L estate.

Just a thought, I had speed hump problems and it was cured by fitting Heavy Duty rear springs.
