Well, new turbo fitted.....this time the sumps been off as well.

There was some (not a lot) sludge in the bottom of the sump plus the garagey bloke found one of the oil pick up pipes (strainer) partially blocked with crud. All cleaned out now  :y

And before you ask, when was the oil/filter last changed.....it was 3 weeks ago when the turbo was changed last time.

So, the answer from the garage, was, yes oil was getting to the turbo (as was shown to me by undoing the bleed valve on the turbo) but perhaps not enough....

Time will tell i guess  :-\

tbh, fittied a turbo to a focus 1.8td. it had already had a "brand new" unit fitted by a garage. the garage fobbed the female driver for just enough time for them to go bump..no comeback.

did not want to spend another £450 on another turbo , so i just stuck one on from a breakers yard. no problem.

original/ rebuild unit obviously u/s from the word go.

as forest gump once said...
