A few questions
« on: 23 October 2011, 16:47:49 »

Hello everyone :)

Just bought my 2.0 Omega, and must say that i really love this car, but...
I thought that the "touring" also had cruise control, and board computer, so my questions are.

Is it possible to fit those in mine?

Thank you!

Touring is not a spec we get in the UK.

2.0 can have cruise control fitted, however here in the UK, only 2.0 CDX had cruise, so parts are not common. Particularly the cam cover backet for cruise cable.

Computer can be fitted, but it will alarm like mad as it won't have a lot of the sensors. What display do you have? Does it say Brake Light Check when you turn it on?

I think the touring is the basic model, i have done some searching on the www - and it sounds like mine is the smallest "model" omega.

So its not that easy to install if it wasn´t born with it?

No.. its only the "top part" in the display. It only shows out temp. and radio/cd info.

Yeah a full computer will alarm on its missing sensors, coolant, brake pads ect.

Cruise can be done if you can source parts  :y

Cruise is an easy retrofit as long as loom fitted (check suspension turrent for 10 pin plug being spare). The cruise parts can be difficult to source 2nd hand, although the expensive parts (to by new) are easy to source, and pretty cheap.

You can install MID for trip computer functions, but your car is missing check control, so you'll need to 'fool' the MID into thinking that the sensors are there, and working (ie, short some wires to 0v)
