to be fair i did around 90 miles in it last night and quite like it  its certainly good on fuel and very comfortable to drive

Dunno what your moaning about really Millwall it could be alot worse!!  Gotta be honest though, if I had to drive a Veccy I'd keep it bog standard...... Blend in with the crowd an all....

Used to have a Vectra SRi many moons ago, a Yr2000 2.5V6.

Yep, the tendancy was for nose-on understeer.  But then, one day, was going round a big built-up roundabout (with about half an acre of grass in the middle) and the next thing I knew I was sat in the middle of the grass!

No warning, no nothing.  Wasn't clogging it, and no oil or diesel on the road.  The bugger just span.  Fortunately, no damage done.  Kept it for a short while after, but wouldn't let the wife drive it, nor would I drive it with the kids in the back.  So got rid.

Without blowing my own trumpet, I ain't a bad driver (raced Karts and FF years ago), so know how a car handles.  Them things are just dangerous TBH...

My Dad had one the same as yours. Bought it new in 99 (V plate) and sold it last month with just 20K on the clock. It was good on fuel because it was so highly geared and when you consider that you can drop them in to top gear at 120mph and still roll on to 140mph they aren't exactly slow either. It appeared small parked next to my Omega but in reality has plenty of legroom for all occupants and was comfy enough.    It's what you compare it against that brings on that inferior feeling but this would be some people's only car and they would be proud of it. I begrudged the sale of my Dad's vectra (he's too old to drive any more) because it was an absolute minter and he got peanuts for it. 

Chin up. It looks a tidy straight car.

It's alright for all of you owners of reasonable second cars but when my 20yr old has to borrow my mig est for his mates and all their computing gear for a show I'm left with his Micra and its no fun when driving it with a lurcher on the back seat breathing in your ear

I don't think it's too bad, or Vectras in general. Although it does seem to be lacking the SRi spoiler  They're not bad cars though in my opinion.

well spotted del   it had a lot of laquer peel so my mates boy is painting it for me  for now ive put some bungs in the holes on the boot

Vectras do not deserve the bad press. They are solid and good mpg and plenty of spares
