Which brakes?
« on: 02 November 2011, 13:07:37 »

I have a 02, 2002 3.2 MV6

What brake discs to I need (size) on the front - and what pads?

I can see the Calipers are stamped Lucas if that helps. I understand there are two different types, I don't want the wrong ones!

Cheers,
James

Does the 3.2 MV6 have 286mm discs or 296mm discs on the front? Or, does it Vary?  :-\

Only 4 pots have the smaller size and non vented(might just be the 8 valve)

V engines(and all other engines) all have larger and vented discs. Dealer should be able to I.D.

PMFL, then it`s 296mm across the range, all front discs are vented

The dealer with give you the right ones.

Don't fit pattern discs. They are universally shite. Been there, done that, was even stupid enough to do it again.

GM discs last me about 3yrs, pattern discs last me a week or 2 at most (although I spend a lot of time in Milton Keynes)

Brakes and tyres are things I'd never skimp on.

Brakes are cheap enough anyway, especially with a trade card.
