Vinyl.....not the gimp stuff before anyone goes down that road  ::)

I have an extensive collection of 7' 12' and Albums dating back to the mid 80's, never counted but i know that the cabinet is 6 foot long and it is crammed full

Faves are picture discs of the late 80's they look sooooo cool.

CD's are too clinical, too clean, i love the crackle and hiss of vinyl.

Me too, spent a fortune on vinyl records over the years. Tend to buy mainly cd's now but will NEVER part with my records! :y

I used to collect Guitars....however .... there came a time, when i no longer ran a music shop, (a useful way of hiding the new acquisitions...  ;)  ) that the wife said 27 was too many...   I'm down to abut 10 or 12 or so....  :(

also rare and expensive high end pro-audio equipment....   but that's easier to keep, as it goes in the studio and is never seen again (as far as She's concerned)  :y  and is offset against tax etc... being as it's my job....

and Tigers...   sadly we're not able to have a real one, so we're limited to  Stuffed toys, paintings, photos, etchings, plates, mugs, posters.... ceramics, and even an operating system !

we tried collecting kids but they're too expensive, and keep escaping after about 18 years... they also grow, which is bloody inconvenient as well !   we stopped after 5

My last house (flat garden) I built an outdoor railway, I used to run collectors models that most people keep wrapped up and never use - when I bought one "Are you a collector or a runner?" I run the buggers, so what if it cost over £100.

I am scared to work out my model railway costs but I do have 38 locos 2 cost around 100!!!!, however some are toys from childhood and 2 are my HST set. 14 DMU coaches  (5 motored)

Just over 100 coaches including parcels type stock :-[ (and 6 belong to the boys)

And around 170 wagons - most are kits :-[ :-[ to be sad I have a rake of 12 mineral wagon, 5 tubes, loads of china clays

we'll have to have an OOF  day out to Pendon....

I love Railways, used to scratch build quite a bit, but I had to choose between studio or railway, and sadly the model railway stuff doesn't pay the bills.

I go to Pendon a couple of times a year to "scratch the itch" as it were...

heavy freight across the viaduct is a joy top behold , and i always enjoy spotting new progress upstairs in the Vale scene.

always wanted an out door gauge O or Gauge 1 , but sadly it's never come to pass...

maybe when i retire.

yeah, right, like I'll ever be able to afford to retire....  >:( :-[

Some of my stuff is over 40 years old but not much, went mad with Airfix wagon kits, hence all the mineral and cements, I like the Parkside kits - moan at them enough and they appear - I repeatedly asked for STV Tube wagon, HTV Hoppers and a few others, bought a few nice mark 1 kits just before Bachmann released there RTRs, spent ages detailing Lima stuff, flush glazing, some repaints, fixing roofs (all mk1 have same roof) , and of course their bogies >:( B4s are wrong way round and BR1s are wrong sized wheels.

The Bachmann Mk1s are really good

Do any of you collect owt unsual or just collect owt at all?

I am a collector of early 21st century speeding convictions. I just don't seem to be able to get enough of them.

Other than that I have amassed quite the guitar collection.

it's Spelt RAAAWWWKKKKKK   thank you very much !

:D

Very nice Debs , We had family friends in LlanfairPG , they had a small (NOT)  track in "development" running thru the garden. and a fantastic trestle viaduct over the garden pond...  all scratch built, I think it was nominally gauge 1, but Narrow gauge , Ffestiniog/Talyllyn style .

I was a bit miffed that Mum stopped taking us to see them when the parents split up....   "She" was Mum's frined, and it was "His" railway.

Shame....

I assure you, "Frined" is Welsh shorthand for "mate" , in the vernacular, familiar style.
