They are probably pimping out their properties as sites for TETRA base stations or something, which have a habit of knocking out keyfob receivers.

one thing to note with their stations, is they power supply is often separate from the store backup supply. If your fortunate enough to know when there is a power outage, their pumps will reset  :D

I'd go alone with the Tetra Base Station scenario, used to be quiet common problem when Dolphin Telecom were around, although now bust but they were in the 410 - 430 Mhz block, Airwave the Goverment Provider are just a bit lower on their frequencies but can still cause issues, probably wont be Tesco's offering their site services as most of the Airwave City fill in cells on located on Fire, Police and Ambulance Stations so could be on of them near the Tesco's.

Was a report recently about residents of a street not being able to unlock their cars.
Turned out to be IIRC a faulty appliance in one of the houses :y

I think I 'll try repeating some early radio transmission experiments, purely for self education.

Lets see, early transmission used spark generators to transmit and coherers to detect, I may try that.  I wonder how much of today's infrastructure I could wipe out with a system like that.
