Heaters work when they feel like it??? HELP?
« on: 13 November 2011, 00:52:46 »

Hi guys i have a CD 2.0 on a W plate

sometimes when i get in the car with the wife we will notice that the heating is blowing cold sometimes, no change even up to a hour! although the engine heat is normal and it all works ok? sometimes after 30 mins it may decides to realise the heat then it all works ok? or sometimes it will just heat up as normal. i find most the time i get in the car go for a normal drive for 30 mins its cold, then go shopping for 20 mins get back in the car and heat comes though straight away? seems strange?? ive tried goin on google but non of what they say on there are the same only thing that sounded the same was something to do with the HBV valve?? and i dont believe my head gasket has gone there's no signs of that all pipes are hot and changed the thermostat and dont get loss of water

Hope you guys can help me  :'(

have you flushed out rad systerm, if not do full flush out and back flush, make sure water comes out clean. if dose not take off intera rad pipes and flush out back and foeward that rad until clear. if still not clean, boil kettle and put kettle cleaner in and poor into rad and when water comes out other pipe plug bottom pipe up and leave for hour or so then flush again, if works put back together and refill :y

is your car mfl or f/l ?

there could be numerous reasons why this is happening  >:(
1- is your ext temp sensor working correctly?
2- hbv sticking
3- vacuum pipes not working correctly
4- int temp sensor not working correctly
5- sampling fan blocked (as mine was )
6- pipes and/or rad semi blocked
