missfire
« on: 14 November 2011, 12:19:08 »

hi folks, i'm having a problem with my 2 litre, i have a misfire thats really getting on my nerves now, its developed over last couple of weeks, its intermitent and is worse pulling away from standing start, i have to ease of the gas pedal to let it sort itself out and then runs great, i'm using loads of petrol, which has led me to think its temperature related, could i have engine running to cold? and keeping cold start on? needle never lifts above 85 degrees, there is no fault code or diagnostic lights on dash, any ideas what to try?

With no codes up, I would be starting with electrical, spark plugs and leads followed maybe by disspack, also worth checking for any cracked or torn inlet hoses if runs better at speed.

No codes, suspect HT as suggested, although air/vac leaks can cause the symptoms.
