I paid a bit more than that for mine - about £60 from 'mobile_ecu_remapping', but his prices have gone up quite a bit now: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTEL-MAXISCAN-MS509-OBD2-ENGINE-FAULT-CODE-SCANNER-READER-TOOL-EOBD-MIL-LIGHT-/170707864020?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item27befb49d4#ht_2567wt_940

Thanks, Aaron. It might be worth paying the extra to make sure that I receive the genuine item. What does it cost to read the codes at a VX dealer. Any idea?... :y

Quoted £50 + VAT at my local stealers, but my local garage uses a generic one and only charged me £29.00 all in, just to read the codes, plus the cost of the repair parts. Thought £29 was reasonable actually,  :)

I bought a hand held reader, about £60 iirc, paid for itself very quickly, identifying a fault, checked on here and part replaced - no garage to read the code or to pay for fitting the part...... :y

I bought mine as I was fed up with local Milton Keynes dealer wanting (back then) £85+VAT to plug in.  So I bought a Tech2. Or 3.
