Unbelievable!.....that somebody would go to the trouble of typing such an idiotic message.  :o

Surely the point of eBay auctions is for sellers to get the best price and the winning-buyer to think they have paid the lowest!
Don`t give this imbecile another-thought Dave.   :y

I enjoy 'sniping' in the final moments of bidding; `adds greatly to the fun.

A sore loser! I have won items by bidding in last few seconds and also missed items by somebody bidding a couple of seconds later. The luck of the draw, a bit of sport! ;)

hi there i think its unfair, i work long hours and some times i can't be there to bid. but i don't want to put a big bid in if i don't need to as many sellers use more than one account and bid on there items themselves so they get more money for them.

If he emailed you through ebay, report the message to them. Doubt they'll do much but you never know.

Or......

Do what I'd do. Email the snivelling idiot straight back and tell him to break off. Much more satisfying :y

Some folks frown on sniping, i enjoy it, even to the point of checking the bidding history to see how many seconds you killed the winning bidder by. I've also been sniped, fair go. An ebay auction has a start & end time, what happens inbetween is irrelevant. All's fair in love & ebay...fastest finger first!!! ;D

It cannot be unfair....its a bidding auction site...if you place what you are prepared to pay then why should you be upset if you lose it..........its fair game and i will always bid in the dying seconds..contary to what anyone thinks.... :y :y :y

18secs isn't late bidding, 5 secs maybe. Snipping is encouraged by Ebay, they tell the snipping companies how to access their system after all.
I use snipping all the time, cause I can't wait around at a computer just to place a bid. Placing a bid early I think is a bit daft cause it lets everyone else know you are after it, and some people will deliberately push the price up. Who knows, someone may have helped Tunnie's recent car sale in that fashion.

Another reason for using an automatic program is your internet connection may be a bit variable some times. Mine was down last sunday, but I managed to get a bid in cause I had set up the bid the previous day.

I have won and lost with late bidding. If something I want then put in maximum I will pay and wait and see, does not matter much of outbid as I will not go past the price I have decided to go to :) Mostly ;) ;)
