Cars you don't forget
« on: 19 November 2011, 21:29:14 »

One of my most memorable cars, is my first V8 Rangie...

It had the usual issue of saggy headlining inside. I got fed up with it, so replaced it with something "custom". Bear in mind I was 21, and crazy as a bottle of chips.

I loved that Lazy old V8  :y

Sadly, she failed her MOT miserable on Rot, Rot, and more Rot.... ended up being scrapped  :'( :'(

Ive only ever driven one once. A late L plate V8 and I loved it. A few prods of the accelerator and the whole thing moved and sounded great.  :y mind you took me a bit of time to adjust my driving style in the corners. ;D

The 2 cars i can't forget and really miss (going back 25 odd years) were my Cavalier SRi "B reg" & Astra GTE MK1 "A reg". Both were cracking cars with the 115Bhp 1.8i lump. Both went like bats out of hell, handled great, and was always a good laugh against a 2.8I Capri or XR4i. Best race i had was the GTE against an RS2000 Mk2 going up the A130 to Chelmsford from the A127 (before they added bollards & crap). Won against the RS2000 on the final straight from the A12 Jct up to the Army & Navy roundabout on the sweeping bends. Those were the days.... :'(
