very similar to the one i had.

looked the same, old but modified. scared the crap out of me and the passenger as we raced along the a45(well known airway strip) at nearly 100mph !!

Tough one. I suppose for me it was my facelift R reg citroen xantia 2.0 16v sx auto in emerald green. At 17 for my first car it was great. Comfortable 138 bhp so was quick and in 2002 still looked a modern ish car. Best part about it were the alcantara seats. On a par with omegas for comfort.  8)

For me it was my second car - a BMW 200Tii, just the thing for a young man about town. :-*

Many years later I quite liked the Granada 2.8 Ghia I bought after going into a fuel station (with a Ford dealership attached) to fill the Volvo 240 I had at the time. ???

I actually filled the Volvo but drove off in the Granada. ;D ;D  I would have kept that car for a while but a security situation meant that it had to go after only a few months. :(

I don't get emotionally attached to cars I'm afraid, although I was quite sad when my MkII GTE went.  Additionally, it was really odd when Project TB2 went :o

I loved and miss my TR7 3.9 V8 which had been mildly tuned, had about 240bhp and had an erection stirring sound ;)

For me it would have to be my Sunbeam Tiger 4.2, it was incredible, 125mph at 4500revs, had a few over the years that I can think of all v8's though.   A few sd1 the best being a Vanded Plas. three  Range Rovers, e type jag(that was a six cyclinder) and a pontiac trans-am.
Wish i could aford to run them these days, plus a few would be worth a bob or to.

Old memories from an old git.

My three most memorable cars :-

BMW M535i '78 vintage. The first really big powerful car.

Lancia Y10 turbo. Completely outdid my expectations

Honda NS-X. Again, just the opposite of what I expected.

A mate of mine had one of them. Sold it and had a succession of sevens of varying degrees of silliness, then an S2000, all sorts of other stuff. Not sure what he's got at the moment, but he's still pining for the NS-X.

The car I had the biggest lurch selling was, of all things, a wolsley 18/85s. For those not familiar, it was the badge engineered Austin/Morris 1800 landcrab. Big brother of the mini of the era.

Full width leather(ette) seats with magic wand style gear lever and handbrake out the dashboard. Fully reclining seats and no headrests meant it went flush with the rear seat base creating a large enough 'lying down' area for a young gad about town.

It could shift ok as well, for the time. Same engine as the mgbgt with twin su carbs - inch and half or bigger?

It was a wrench when I traded it in for a mk 2 escort, ex swan national hire car- but that's another story.....
