Need some pointers with anyone with Tis or fuse info.

Senario, 2.0 CDX, owner has flat battery and a broken bonnet release, I need to pick up and move the car next tuesday.

My plan is to slow charge the battery tomorrow and over night till tuesday morning, thinking about stuffing a charger either on the interior light but guessing thats got a 5 amp fuse inline, or go the other side of its fuse (battery side), reckon on slow charge should be no more than 8 amps through the charger.

Does that fuse ppint go straight to the battery or is there another pick up point from the drivers side fuse point that will do the job.

Ideally looking at going direct or through the bigger master fuse from the fuse panel.

mmmm... thinking out loud .....

On both the old 2.5 (MFL) and this one (FL) - both Elites mind - the interior lights were powered through a "time delay" relay, such that they went of after a few seconds ... if your 2.0 has that same system then you'll get nowhere trying to charge via a light.

Ciggy lighters were the same

Leaves me thinking ...  "parking lights" - these remain powered at all times when selected on ... can you get a feed in through that circuit

Haynes has that as Fuse 23 - 10 amp

There is also listed Fuse 29 - caravan constant current supply at 20 amps .. and that terminates in the boot .. might be worth a thought ?? The socket is behind the rear boot panel if no towbar socket fitted

Thanks Entwood, yea cant check the delay on the int light, flat battery, its a W 2000 CDX so no idea on them.

Must admit totaly forbpt about the towing thing, so far looking at fuse 23 and 29 thanks.

Normally would just stuff 12v from under the starter motor and jump it, but I really dont have time tomorrow to mess about and seems a bit pointless unless I can remove tne battery, which I cant. So just looking at moving the car back to my pad then have play.

F17 Horn fuse 20A, always live, connected to battery. You can use it to charge battery  just make sure everything is switched off.

Actually - I think I know where I can rustle another one up from if need be.Might take a few days,but I believe Zirk is paying me a visit on weds,so may just be able to get hold of one by then.

Lift front near side of the car enough that you can reach the starter. The other end of the main cable from the battery is connected to the starter, connect your charger there.

Thanks Andy, but as said before would normally jump start from the starter point. Car is parked on wet grass, and really dont have the time tomorrow to piss around so need to charge it, figers crossed will start and drie it away for 50 notes, mot os out coe wecnesday

Who mentioned jump starts?  I said you could connect your charger to it.
