My car has been classed as a write off for a crash and is at the end of its years as a taxi so Ive got it advertised else where as I wasnt allowed to put it on here as I havent posted enough posts. I would rather it go to some on this forum. I have had loads of help from this forum and saved myself a fortune so surely if someone needed a car spares or repair this should be the place for it to go seems a daft rule to me.

You may think that, but too many have been ripped off in the past, so we have been forced to introduce this.

End of the day...theres no such thing as a free lunch, and free advertising is what you are after.

Post above modified as it reads too much of an advert to me.

Now I can see why things need to be strict to avoid problems as the forum is for help and disscusion, but as for the advertising  and the lunch thing I dont want it.

I am in two minds whether to delete this thread or not. I did not see the original unedited thread so, meantime, will go with jimbobs descision.

250 posts it is and likely to remain for a looooong time. Sadly, not all sellers are honest (absolutely no reflection on yourself, BTW) and this stance has been forced upon us. Since raising the bar, the instances of nefarious conduct have all bit disappeared.

Agree with you ajn it is a redicilously situation. But this is the down side of unscrupulous sellers stitching people up, causing admin agro and disputes openly argued on the forum.

Thing is anyone looking to buy, including oof'ers will use the channels you have already used to sell. So no biggy really.

Its a shame, as you rightly say, but necessary, no doubt about it IMO. :(

I understand your frustration. The fact that some folk join a free forum such as this or many others to either rip folk off or just to sell a car then dissappear is where the problem lies. Forums such as this would'nt be here without alot of time, frustration, threats of divorce, legalities, expense & more without the few that run/police them so the thousands of others like us can enjoy them.

The sad thing is i'd guess 90% of folk who want to sell on here are genuine, you included, it's just the few bad apples that spoil it for the rest of you.

Stick around & talk to us anyway, you'll soon build your post count. I used to be a cabbie many years ago in Sussex which is where my love for Omegas started, so hang on in there, Guy.

Replies to count, but if you just put a full stop or just single letters then your not going to win favours with admins.

Get involved with topics, help out in tech questions you can help with, soon clock them up.
