What a turn up
« on: 14 March 2008, 18:34:02 »

for the books...had a conversation with the boss and he still wants me to go to Canada and lead the installation of an oil emulsion coolant system, i told him he knows how i feel, and i do not wish to lead the project.

He has offered me a new position withing the company with a very large bonus if i can get the build completed within the time limit, he also informs me the car with the new roll will be an Audi A8, I now have a lot of thinking to do, if i accept, i will be in Canada on and off for 5 months.

My black CDX will have to go if i accept the new position, we will keep the 04 plate miggy.

Sounds like a golden opportunity of a lifetime, and getting out of this country for a while is a bonus. ::)

All I can say is go for it! :y :y

If everything is signed and sealed with watertight contracts it would seem daft not to progress your career, Miggy. I know we work to live, not live to work, but improving your status in a company has got to pay dividends later on, either within the same organisation, or one you may choose to move to in the future.
I suppose it really depends on what improvement it offers, if any, to your and your family's quality of life.
Good luck in making your decision.
Bill.

You'll like Canada .. providing it's not the french speaking bits ... those guys are so up themselves its ridiculous .. the rest are really nice friendly folks, good social life but the beer is pretty awful, Moulsons is nothing but chemical water that just gives an almighty hangover !! Some of the bigger places have "micro-breweries" .. local made stuff that can be very very nice !!  :)

Myself and Mrs Miggy have just been invited for a meal at the bosses home tomorrow night, I have recently spoke to him and he has agreed that Mrs Miggy can come out with me every other visit, all paid for.........my decision is to go for the promotion so we are going to finalise it tomorrow night...........he told me to go and have a look at the A8s tomorrow and let him know which model i would like.

The installation is 5 months, after that he wants me to lead on 2 other projects, one in Jakata and one in Aussie, just these 3 projects take us well into 2011.

Things are rosy, my Daughter is in the process of completing on her Mortgage in 2 weeks, getting married next year and she has a good job with the NHS, so when we go to canada we will have no worries.
