apprentice fell for it
« on: 25 November 2011, 19:56:55 »

I found a set of ignition points in my shed the other day so ::) ::).
I have a small workshop and there is a garage next door so I had a chat with mechanic about a apprentice wind up.....well he put the points below the dis-pack on a zafira today and asked the apprentice to find where they came from'not telling him what they were ;D' ;D and fix them back in place ;D ;D.
2 hours later not found where they went, told him to google ignition points.
Lets say the language was colourfull ;D ;D ;D
The young chap was one of these I know everthing about all cars

Back in the "mists of time" I once owned a 1982 (Y reg) MK1 Astra estate. It came with points. One of the last cars to do so, I think.... :y

I reckon so at that age - the last car I had with points was the Allegro (which a quick google shows you can still buy for under a tenner!)..

If I recall correctly, a nice snug fit is required. Neither too loose, or too tight..... ;)

The BL built All-Aggro had a lot to answer for back in the seventies, Aaron.

Quite possible, as they first produced in 1959.

Mine mostly had to answer for the passengers getting wet legs (the windscreen leaked and filled the 'shelf' under the dash with water).. but it was a great first car, really; so underpowered it was hard to get into (too much) trouble, forgiving (boat like) handling, and about as sexy as a colostomy bag so no chance of me getting into trouble with the ladies with it ;D ;D

All kids should be forced to have a car like that as their first car.. ;)
