I seem to recall I had points on my 900cc Vauxhall Nova ;D

Is that all they had, James?...... 900 cc is not even a decent bike engine... :).

Sounds like a pussy magnet compared to the Reliant Regal 600 I owned.....(Plastic pigs could be driven on a full bike licence)

I think the only thing that made it sexier than a Reliant was the fact it had the correct number of wheels.. ;D aside from that, simply the least sexy car ever made.

Oh, apart from possibly the Austin Princess of similar vintage.

No no, what's depressing is someone pointing out it's only 7 years until you hit 40. Bah!  >:(

The Allegro was a riot, really, at the time.. hump-back bridges were a particular speciality for the hydrolastic suspension ;D

my 1st allegro  back then was a 1750 with twin carbs! i "adjusted" the suspension by taking the link pipes out, then shortening the actuator rods dropping it on its ass but still with the right amount of hydrogas pressure, it actualy handled pretty well around the lanes lol  and i still have a thing for BL cars!

|I have to admit i was a bit more then tempted with this, but its going to sell for a fair bit i imagine, part of the fun of the old BL cars was being able to pick them up so cheap and play around with them, but they all seem to get fairly good money now! i even see 1989 1.0 metros for grand on ebay! must be the 1st time they have been worth that for 20 years lol and i like them too.... I was put in the baby bouncer upside down when i was little, i blame my mother. (even the brown vynl seats in her allegro in summer with shorts giving 3rd degree burns didnt put me off! ???

I believe the old Austin/Morris 1100/1300 used hydrolastic  suspension.
