A Big Thank You (Re: Cam cover Gaskets)
« on: 15 March 2008, 17:13:51 »

I have just completed doing the dreaded cam cover gaskets on my 3.0 Elite.

Must say a real big Thank you to Marks DTM for the excellent cam cover gasket replacement maintenance guide he posted.

I simply printed it off took it out to the car and followed the instructions and pictures and job is now done.

I was very worried about doing it after looking at ammount of "stuff" around the engine but this guide made it fairly easy.

Thanks again mate, Regards, Big Al

PS. VX Stealers charged me £73.00 for gaskets, 16 little "o" rings and a tube of black stuff. Seems like daylight robbery for what I got!

Have you PM'd me a link ?  ;D >:(   No ?

I did a Search for "Cam Cover" and this thread was interesting because it references a Guide, which I can't find.  and my HBOL's only goes up to Pre-face lift, so I assume it will be a bit different.

Me too. First post mentions an "excellent guide", so have a look in the maintenance guides section and lo and behold.......... ::)
