cheapest place to get a crankshaft sensor from then?

If you have a tradeclub card, then your nearest participating Vx dealership; if not, PM member andyc on here (or phone him, 01284 777254).  Don't be tempted to buy online from one of the many sites who claim/seem to supply genuine Vauxhall parts but always don't.

Just out of curiosity, I unplugged the crank sensor on our '95 2.0, and it seemed like it wasn't going to start.  It seemed to crank over unevenly and reluctantly which isn't the normal experience (but it usually starts up instantly so dunno the significance of this?).
Anyway, on the second or third three-second burst of starter cranking, it started.  I was surprised, but it started and ran, obviously with EML lit though.
Plug crank sensor back in and it goes back to starting instantly, and EML straight off again.

IIRC there are two types of sensor for the 2.0s, depending on year, and the later one is cheaper.

Edited to correct andyc's number.
