LPG Conversion
« on: 04 December 2011, 18:14:10 »

Hiya fellas, after some advice again. Looking to convert my work car - '04 1.8LX Mondeo hatch - to LPG. Ive had this car from new and its never missed a beat so plan on keeping it for as long as it runs.

Can anyone recommend a good outfit (willing to travel) who do good conversions, with a good system for a fair price. Do i need a "flashlube" kit fitted being a Ford (i know Vauxhalls don't require one).

Ideally want the biggest boot tank i can get, say 80-90L.

Any recommendations welcommed. Cheers in advance. :y

From what i gather converting a Ford to dual fuel lpg is perhaps not the best idea, due to overly soft valve seats. But see what others say...

I've heard Fords do not convert well, not sure if valve lube will be enough to help...

I would advise against converting a Ford... Heard stories of Valve Seat Recession in under 20k, even with Flashlube fitted :o :o

Cheers for the advice fellas.....the valve seats on a Ford was exactly was I was aiming at when I mentioned the "Flashlube." You've all just confirmed my thoughts. Ahhhh well, its the thought that counts.... :y
