i am doing some research for a new website idea...

i no there is a web link going around the website to a website dedicated to omega spares, but ive got some free time coming up early in the new year, as i have finished a project early. So im still being paid for the free time in which i have.. and its too cold to go in my garage and pretend i no what im doing with a spanner :-)

soo i'd like to try and create a site where every one can list there spare parts for other members to purchase.. the site will be like a mini **ebay if you will! of course i would like to see if there would be any interest in the project firstly?

** Unlike ebay it will be a free service!!

Theres probably about half a dozen of us who break Omegas on here.Open minded about your idea,but struggling to see how it would be different from the forums for sale/wanted section ?

my point is why go to another website when you can just come straight on here   not knocking your idea but seems a bit pointless   unless im missing something

this is something that would need to be looked at once the foundations for a site are in place. of course open to ideas and suggestions...

Its probably something that the admin team wouldn't agree to (as in allowing links to it). I can pretty categorically say that its very unlikely we would allow sharing of member data as well.

We could build an integrated system ourselves, but we do not believe its the right direction for OOF (based on previous discussions.

However, I'm more than happy to present your idea to the team

It appears that a fair number of members would prefer to purchase from an "established" breakers business. Higher prices, better quality

well like it said it was just a quick idea that came into my head, and it is open to the board to talk about, i dont want to step on anyone's toes or been seen as someone who is trying to steal member details or anything like that. maybe i should just forget the idea

No need to forget it mate.But you would need to demonstrate advantages to all concerned for it to be viable imo.
