how long would you wait
« on: 06 December 2011, 11:55:33 »

 .......... for something you ordered & paid for via PayPal on the evening of the 21st of November ie a fortnight ago yesterday?
I phoned last Monday to ask where it was. His reply was that he'd have thought I should've got them by now, he'll send it again. On friday I phoned again as they'd still not arrived. He reckoned they'd been sent Tues or Wed. Today's post has arrived & still nothing.
When would you raise a problem with PayPal?
I ordered these, they're only £10 but I wanted the bloody things to do a job while I was off work.  >:( >:(

I wouldn't be waiting too much longer Andy as there seems to be some right Herbert’s selling on eBay - I hate this sort of thing.

As a very sagacious individual once said, "It does me bastid crust in!”

Although is there not a period of time you have to wait before raising a dispute?  42 days springs to mind - although I may be wrong on that.

I've text him to say, that if not not here by the end of the week I'll raise a dispute with PayPal. See if that gets a responce!  :y

I had a quick look at PayPal's site but was none the wiser ......  :-\

as royal mail state 28 days before anything is officially lost...I would say that is the time you must wait.

I wouldnt refund before that point, and the paypal claim system takes long enough that the wait can be forced on you.

From local sources, royal mail already have a christmas backlog too, which wont help.

Strike that 42 days Andy - here's something that may help;

If the seller hasn't made things right, contact us so that we can help. You can open a case 3 days after the estimated delivery date of an item or 7 days after of making payment if you weren't given an estimated delivery date. A case has to be submitted within 45 days from the date of payment.

How did he send it, Andy?

I sent something by "Parcel Post" (RM) recently - it took nearly four weeks to arrive  :-\ (By which time I'd already refunded the guy, naturally, bah  ::))

 ;D You couldn't make it up.

The procedures for non-eBay transactions are slightly different;

Step 1 - Open dispute right away

You can open a dispute  You have 45 days from the payment date to open a dispute. Common reasons for opening a dispute include:

•You paid for an item but haven't received it and the seller is uncooperative or nonresponsive.
•You received an item that was significantly different from how it was described.

Click the Report a Problem button in the Resolution Centre to open a dispute. Then, provide more information about the issue and post a message to the seller.

i generally give them 7 days past thier estimated delivery date then raise a dispute but ebay give the seller a further 7-14 days i think to sort things out before you can go staright to a claim even with paypal i still use either my visa or visa debit card so i am covered by visa as well as paypal/ebay etc i never vtransfer funds straight from my bank account :y

Same here, my PayPal is via my credit card. As I gave him a dead line, I'll give him till this Friday evening when I get home from work & raise a dispute if there's been nothing through the letter box earlier in the day.
It's less than £10, so no great loss if they never arrive - it's the principle!  ;) ;) ;) :y

Last couple of bits i bought have taken longer than usual. Seems my payments need two weeks to clear after all these years.

  Check your paypal & bank a/cs to what's come out.
