As there is more than sufficient ammunition contained within the posts on this thread a certain individual, having rifled through them, may well discharge his prerogative and take aim at some people who have made themselves targets and, furthermore, having made themselves so, those very people may have to bite the bullet in respect of whatever judgement is forthcoming.

When I was working I got to listen to more than a few people who where able to use the language in that way (one of the few advantages) and must say that it was a treat - it almost made it worthwhile (although, if truth be told, it was a worthwhile job).
We have a great language and it never ceases to astound me how it can be made to say (or not in many cases) almost anything in a way that isn't immediately ovbious - just like Mike's follow-up comments.
