And I will say, despite being a non-smoker, I think making smoking anti-social is wrong.  Yes, there was/are some ignorant smokers, but there are equally ignorant drinkers/speeders/whatever your vice is.

We all knew, a decade ago, that if you went in a pub, it would be smokey. If you don't like it, don't go in ;). Notice how few non-smoking pubs there were ;)

Back in the early 90s, in Aylesbury, some idiot do-gooder opened up an alcohol free pub. Needless to say, the financing ran out after about 6 months....

People should indeed be allowed to do what they want, including smokers, but the very weed they smoke inforces them to smoke more! This is not volentary. They are not donig what they want, they follow their addiction. Which for others is repulsive. Its interesting smokers find these new cigarettes repulsive. Food for thought perhaps.

theres no need for an apology D not offended its sadly the norm when non smokers or ex smokers get an oppertunity to voice thier opinions about smoking

its just dissapointing to see it on this forum having met some of the people

i would add that most things we do in life effect others no matter if it was unintentional smoking is certainley one of them if you made a list of such things it would be very long

drinking
speeding
going to work with a cold
etc etc

...and re do gooding. Personally, no intention of doing smokers good per say, more to stop poluting the air you/I/we all breath. Where ever you/I/we choose the breath it! Pub or otherwise, be it smoke or personal stench, weather the individual is aware of it or not!

Disapointing indeed.
Imagine spending an entire day at a meet, fixing others cars. Where one of the owners, while i'm fixing thier car, insists on smoking no more than one foot from my face, stubing out thier fag buts on the very floor i have to roll around on the do the work for that very person, so that for the rest of the day while working on further cars, i stink like the very ash tray they wouldnt roll around in or have within two feet of themslves due the repulsive stench.

Disapointing? .... rather right its disapointing!

Yes partly, the way i see it, its the complete opposite view! As obtuse, rude, offensive, disgusting as smoking itself. Except the oppoite end of the scale. Ofended? Now you see the other view! Hypocritical slightly, but might get the point through "the smog" and addiction tjat make smokers cimpletely blind. Smokers who in some cases i love and respect greatly.

If i'm told that smoking is acceptable, then equally, obviously i'm allowed to tell that it is not. (and then some ;D;)

Alcohol is addictive. And smells, both during the evening, and the morning after ::)

Didn't they find something in McDonalds that was addictive?

Some people say track days are addictive.....

I don't particularly enjoy stinking of fags, more noticable as a non smoker, but I stand by my earlier comments...

I don't have a problem with people smoking as long as it dosn't affect me or others around!  :y Unfortunately, most smokers whilst believing that they are being considerate, don't understand how badly they stink and how offensive it can be....  >:(

My pet hate is getting into a lift when someone popped out for a quick smoke, really, really stinks lift out standing in there with them, really don't like it  :(

But I fair few of my friends are smokers, so I don't mind it when its not affecting me. Far nicer in Bar's & restaurants now since the ban  :)
