Spark plug wells full of oil,,,help

Took the coil pack off to change the plugs & there is oil everywhere!!!!!!!!!!! It is full of oil. Does this mean the gasket for the cover has gone????? Help :( :( :(

Yes, camcover gaskets is the normal cause.

Replace with Genuine only.  Pattern are notoriously bad :(

And clean the breathers and do regular oil changes (no more than 5000 miles) to prevent it happening again. ;)

Ok thanks will go to vauxhall asap!
Cnange the oil every 8k, check breathers every year. Looks like I need to do it more often  ;)

Do I need any sealant on the rubber gasket???????

Yep. There's a "How To" guide on here that gives you al the part numbers. I used AndC here to get all the bits when I did mine a few months ago.

I have just used the guides to help me strip all the bits off my car. Had the same problem as you with the plug wells full of oil. The guides are spot on and well worth having a good look at before starting the job,the breathers on mine were really dirty and have took me all afternoon to get unblocked.
Just the gaskets and re-assembly to do tommorow,fingers crossed no snow. :

Pop to Boyes (other stores unchanged since the 1970s are available) and grab a bag of pipe cleaners and some "carb cleaner". Easiest way to clean the breathers, using these and then a running tap.

I can't of done what, 3k miles since doing my breathers, and they're caked up again!
