Common misfire faults...
« on: 18 December 2011, 01:05:21 »

Sadly I think the time has come for my Miggy to go to the scrapheap in the sky...

I am looking for a cheap run about for a few months until I can get something more appropriate...  In the meantime, I have found a 2001 Vectra 2.2 petrol, which has a misfire...

Any ideas before I go and see what kind of deal I may be able to muster???  I am guessing the obvious of dispack and/or plugs...

Thanks...

The Omega is misfiring (2.5TD), done the diesel magic trick a couple of times no improvement...  It is both leaking and burning oil (blue smoke)...

How many miles on the TD - they are normally a strong engine for 'wear' type faults (although have a habit of letting go spectacularly)

Possible a minor part of it, I stopped the car by my house door last night and there is a oil patch there that looks as though the car was there for hours, not 10 minutes!!!  It has only done 150,000, but, I have feelings it was abused prior to me having it...
