I replaced em about 18 months ago....I would have noticed, it has failed somehow, sure of it.

Agreed, the lower load spreading washer is missing.

Cant see how they could fail as its not like there is any turning motion that could wear them and both to fail the same way (e.g. both sides) is lottery win territory.

thats why i said check both sides, if they forgot to fit on one side it could of been left out other side too, im also not sure if youd tell if wasnt there unless removed as rubber covers it in compression

No, nor me, but something let go spectacularly today...and cant see how I wouldnt have noticed before now.

Car has had a lot of use, and some quite heavy loads, yet was empty today when it happened.

nah im picking it up from a home adress, bloke broke his car, figured for 50 quid it worth the run as my miggy on lpg too so not a bomb in fuel costs, only thing i can think about your prob is the washer sheared in two when issue happened

It must be something like that, it cant have survived like that for 18 months!

I assume the shock is moving ok across its full stroke?

Ill check em both fully when I replace that part.

Got more spares on their way....spotted brand new VX MV6 Estate shocks on ebay!!!, at a very good price, so nabbed the pair, given we have 2....they will come in :y

can see what your jobs going to be before the weekend now, i had looked at them but wernt the self levelers like on mine, so i had to get andy to order me one
