I'm a happy bunny
« on: 23 December 2011, 19:06:18 »

Just had a good week in work, won myself the use of a brand-new Range Rover Vogue TDV8 for a few days over Christmas, with free diesel  :y

It just so happens to be one of my dream cars, and it's got satellite TV for the kids!!

Just drove it home, it's a monster - I'm very happy at the moment  :)

Nice one!

Please tell me you've turned off those blingy daytime running lights though.

They go quite well, don't they!  And the brakes work well for such a large heavy car.   ;D

Just remember to tee them up a tad before entering into your favourite bends at speed to ensure the suspension is fully loaded before getting the best out the acceleration out the other side of the bend.  ;)

Yeah, the handling is rather different to what I'm used to  ;D

What size engine is the TDV8 by the way?

TDV8 is a 4.4 litre twin turbo, as I recall.  The 5.3(?) petrol autobiography is a whole lot of hoot as well, if you get a chance of a drive in that.....   :y

Has it got the cameras in the mirrors and front/rear?  And the split screen TV/satnav where the passenger watches and hears the TV and the driver gets the satmnav at the same time and hears the TV?

If you sit in the middle rear and move your head side to side you can see one but not the other.  Quite clever.....   :)

I know! Can't quite believe it to be honest, my jaw hit the floor when the boss told me I could have it  ;D

It's funny you should mention Land's End, I was thinking of having a stroll on Newquay beach...

It's got a reversing camera, don't know yet about the mirrors, I'll have to look at the book  ;D

Split screen? I've seen how that works, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet - Mrs Cool is out and I've got to stay in looking after my little angels  :)

reversing camera, dependant on model year, is also clever. Couple of yellow lines appear in the onscreen image showing your projected path rearwards.  As you turn the steering, the yellow lines also bent showing how you will (or will not) get into a parking space.   :)
