hi all happy new year my display keeps saying brake light but brake lights are fine any ideas  :y :y

Ensure a decent connection in the bulb holder & use a quality brand. Cheap lamps can & do cause a problem for the lamp check   electrickery.  ;)

If its when you first turn the ignition on that's normal. It does all the checks then you press the brake pedal, it goes off and that's it.

oh yes its says breaklight check when started but on display after check it comes up on display brake light but all brake lights are working fine cheers :y :y

oh great its not just me then its never done this before until 29th dec i thought strange ::) my mate checked lights while i apply the brake all working so i dont understand why its happening its a fault on rear lights  ::) ::)

You're supposed to. The message appears, you press the pedal & if both brake lights come on the system is happy & extinguishes the message. If a lamp fails, you get the message to inform you that you need to buy a new lamp.

thats what im saying its saying brake light which i thought means you need a bulb but my rear lights are working so why is it telling me to check brake light when lights ok  :y :y

When you first turn your ignition you should get the message .... brake light check. When you press the brake pedal the message goes away assuming that both brake lamps are working. If you get the message appear during normal driving it means that a brake lamp has failed or you've fitted cheapo brake lamps or there's a fault in the check system (unlikely)

well thats what its saying after system check,i drive then the display says BRAKE LIGHT but brake lights  are all working fine so yes im puzzled  ::)and its just started doing it and bulbs were from halfords so no rubbish ones and been in ages

Agreed! Go and buy & fit a pair of QUALITY stop/tail lamps.  ;) ;) ;)
