You may find you don't need a trade card for genuine VX places to get trade prices, if they know you.  Go in with the " I understand there is a good trade price on 4 for 3 on 5L oil ". That should  work if they know you and want the business. My local JCT600 place give me trade prices for most bits without asking, now. Once they figure out you are not going to come in asking for penny washers but know what you are doing, they generally like to cultivate customers.

All I got from your original link was the log in page. As expected as I was not logged in. You probably got the link to the page directly, as you where logged in. No?

Guess it would be pointless having a log in if one member could link all the contents to everyone else.

What's the difference between Halfords own and GM genuine?

I planned on sticking with the genuine stuff although a bit more expensive. And I will get round to getting a TC at some point.

I've had no issues with Hellfrauds oils, assuming its the right spec. Its just too bloody expensive, even on trade.

Hellfrauds air filters, though, bloody awful.

Remember, Tradeclub prices are better than trade prices.  As its a scheme run by Tradeclub, rather than the dealer itself, all purchases have to go against a valid Tradeclub membership number.


Andyc is usually willing to mail order at TC prices, plus postage of course.  In fact, I believe he has a special offer on this month of better than TC prices on some items....

So having looked into it abit more, I now understand that GM oil has been formulated specifically for GM engines and it'll be interesting to see if there is a noticable difference when I use the GM oil for the first time....... I'll keep you posted!

Its a good quality oil at bargain price, and a 'known' item, tried and tested in our cars.  The question is, given the TC price, why wouldn't you

Its cheap enough, 3k oil changes are feasible, and this makes it a better option than any ultra expensive oil, such as Mobil1, left in for 10k...

The only oils that I'd actively avoid are Castrol GTX and Castrol Magnatec, which seem to block the breathers on our v6 engines, esp if used for short runs...

Fuchs, who also now own/are part of/merged with (delete as appropriate) silkolene.

Silolene pro 4 was/is the oil of choice for bikes.

Gm own the dexron patent for atf etc. Gm know their oils, as do Fuchs.

20 litre drum £35 at local dealer, no TC   Did a full service on one of the work Vectras on Sunday. Total parts/oil £69 including the dreaded, and the oil was the 5w30 fully synth too 15% of all the parts was nice

As said, no point buying elsewhere
