OOF Notifications - Okay so what am I doing Wrong?

I've changed every setting I can mess around with the get a notification box come up on screen to let me know when someone has posted a reply to a thread I'm watching (as per old site).  But still nothing lets me know??

Currently I'm having to make a note of what I'm watching and go into each one everynow and then to see if there is a new posting  ???

Is it my profile, settings, or some other reason why I'm not getting any 'flag up'  ???

Some help would be appreciated please.

I always use the "Show new replies to your posts" bit at the top of the screen

I just keep refreshing  the home page which once done indicates new posts :y

You may have to expand the box at the top of the screen, the + or - next to the date  :y

It still isn't quite the same as the old notification though

The new software lacks the identical functionality for Notifications, it was one (of many) compromises we had to make to keep the site going  :'(

I liked the old software  :'(

TB / All that replied - Thanks for explaining it doesn't work the same as the old site, was wondering if I'd not quite changed a 'setting'.  Least I know it wasn't me then  ::)
And cheers for the help / tips / advice on what could help out  :y
