99/2000, Omega Elite 2.5 Auto

Hi All
im a new member to the forum, can someone shed some light on this fault??
Been on and off for about 4 months, most the time it starts fine, but recently got worse..to the point where its not starting at all now, it turns over fine and fitted a new battery about 2 wks ago..but doesnt want to fire up?!

Any thoughts grately appreciated

First thing to do is the "paperclip test"

Then post up the results.

My instant guess is probably a crank sensor ... but lets see what codes you get.. :)

Ok thanks for the info, forgot to mention it had a crank shaft sensor about 4 months back.

Will give the paperclip test a go and see what happens.

Was it genuine? If so what part number was it, there appears to be couple of types for the 2.5, as Debs found out if you get the wrong one they don't last very long!

Not sure if it was a genuine part to be honest, take it ill need the engine number for a true part?

Just spoke to fella that sold it to me, and he had a new coil pack, leads and plugs fitted just before i got it..has the receipts aswell
