Had a metallic knocking noise start on the front drivers side when going over bumps/uneven road the other day, and steering was very slightly off. Thought it was ARB links or bushings, which I was planning to sort at the weekend. Noise got progressively worse (louder and less bumpiness needed to make it) up to yesterday. Then on way home last night and heard something metal fall off the car and clunk along the underside as I was driving. Once it had fallen off the steering seemed to straighten up and the knocking noises stopped. Drove back along the road in the dark but couldn't see what had come off, so assumed ARB link had failed completely and come off. To my surprise when I looked under the car today, all ARB links are in place and fine.
I've had a good scout about underneath but can't see anything missing, loose or damaged! I'm beginning to think someone must have dropped a spanner or something somewhere in the past and it had finally worked it's way loose to foul the roll bar or something and then finally popped out last night.
Any other bright ideas for what is now missing off my car?
