strange problems
« on: 08 January 2012, 09:48:19 »

failed the mot in november on a track rod end and corroded exhaust section..when i picked the car up from garage the yellow visit workshop light was on ..didn't think anything of it ..until i hit the motorway and noticed cruise control wasn't working...about week later light went out and engine management light came on..cruise started working but car developed a missfire on 1 and 3 think codes 300,301.303......car is lpg,and have heard can be heavy on coils etc..so bought a coil from steve @ omega parts ..got fitted just before christmas...didn't use the car over christmas..drove to london on 29th misfire not cured either on petrol or lpg and engine man light still on...whilst in london notice i can't engage reverse unless i switch engine off..hear a lot of noise from clutch..drive back from london on the 3rd go shopping on the 4th clutch gets worse...drop car off at local garage...new 3 peice clutch kit (£198) local motorfactors..
collect car on the 7th,engine management light is off but visit workshop light is on,car does not misfire on petrol..car will not switch to lpg .have a feeling they have left the earth unconnected..get home check earth not connected ..reconnect go for short drive ..everytime car switches to lpg management light comes on and car misfires slightly...go home ,get up sunday morning to travel back to london hit the m1 on petrol car running perfect no cruise...switch to lpg management light comes on misfires/holdsback slightly but cruise works...??
  i am totally baffled

I'd fix the known fault first, get the codes read, cleared and see what comes back and fix that fault.

As mentioned above 1stly get the codes read, post up or look up on maintainence guide to see what they are. What you've said so far, the lpg raises an eyebrow (but not an expert at them) :(
