My recollection is that the puddle lights switch off as soon as the doors shut but there is a time delay on the centre courtesy light that dims the lamp before it switches off.

Don't know if there is a separate fuse for the time delay  :-\ I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me to check.

My plan would be to track down the time delay module (sorry, I don't know where it is) and go from there.

I assume that you have standard bulbs fitted (not LEDs).............

PS the map reading lights only work when the engine is running.

I think im in the same boat as greenman, my interior lights were working (as always never happy with what I had) changed with Led's. They worked but noticed when locking the car they didnt completely go off. So changed back to the same normal bulbs but both map reading/interior lights don't work?? All fuses seem fine ???.

Sorry to hijack the thread  :y

If memory serves .. the interior lights, as against the map lights, go through a "time delay relay" ... they stay on for a while, then dim and extinguish, unless you lock the car when they go out instantly ....  where that relay is I don't know .. :(

I've recently changed mine to LEDs, and found that happened too. Fortunately, I had 2 different types of LED, and swapping them around made everything work properly.
They are a big improvement over the originals; they illuminate right down into the footwells which is something the originals never did.

Where did you get the LED ,s from the NickW ?

The quality of the interior light has been a constant issue for me since day 1 :'( as I often do paperwork etc in car and have ended up buying a clip on LED for the dash but would much prefer just the light to be better. :y
